WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.), Chairman and Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia and Counterterrorism, and U.S. Senator Chris Coons (D-Del.) on Thursday released the following statement on Qatar’s $100 million contribution for humanitarian support in Yemen:
"We are pleased that Qatar has stepped up in a big way with a $100 million contribution to the World Food Programme. This money will go a long way in helping end the suffering in Yemen, which reinforces efforts for regional peace and security. This humanitarian crisis has lasted too long, and it’s critical that neighboring countries help to care for those in need. In the midst of a civil war, global pandemic, and hunger crisis, we must work together to end this humanitarian disaster once and for all,” said Murphy, Young and Coons.
