WASHINGTON – Today, just weeks after spending a weekend on board the USS HARTFORD submarine, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) welcomed the boat and its Groton-based crew back home to Naval Submarine Base New London. 

“I spent a weekend on board the USS Hartford last month, getting to know the boat and the Connecticut-based crew who make it operate. I came back from my trip with an enormous degree of admiration for these sailors – their expertise and professionalism were striking. I saw firsthand the incredible contributions that these men make not only to our state, but to the national security of the United States, and I am intent on making sure that the quality of life we deliver to these sailors and their families is the gold standard. We are all so excited to welcome them back home!”
