WASHINGTON–U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee and co-chair of the U.S. Senate Poland Caucus, will travel to Poland for the Warsaw Security Forum. Murphy will participate in a panel with Helena Carreiras, Portugal’s Minister of Defense, and Ben Wallace, the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Defense, titled “Gazing at Each Other or Facing the Same Direction: Reviving the Transatlantic Alliance in Times of War in Europe.” Murphy will also meet with elected officials and participate in a conversation about democratic resilience with the mayor of Warsaw.

“As a proud Polish-American and the Co-Chair of the U.S.-Poland Caucus, it’s been amazing to watch Poland step up and do its part to support Ukraine in its time of peril. As Russia grows increasingly desperate, the past seven months have demonstrated the strength and effectiveness of transatlantic cooperation. This conference of American and European leaders is a great chance to continue planning for Ukraine’s success and make sure we are on the same page on other mutual challenges,” said Murphy.
