HARTFORD—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Friday released the following statement ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’ visit to Connecticut as part of the Biden administration’s “Help is Here” tour:

“I’m fired up to welcome my former colleague in the Senate and friend Vice President Kamala Harris to Connecticut today. Earlier this month, Congress passed the American Rescue Plan – one of the most significant pieces of legislation in a generation – to crush this pandemic, put money into the pockets of Americans, jumpstart our economy, and lift millions of children out of poverty. The vice president’s visit to our state sends a clear message: help is on the way. I’m happy to join her today in New Haven and showcase some of the amazing work being done in our state,” said Murphy.

Murphy will join Vice President Harris and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) later today at a roundtable discussion in New Haven to tout the American Rescue Plan’s impact on children and young adults.
