HARTFORD – U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released a statement on Friday after Derby resident Luis Barrios received a two-year stay in his deportation case. The news comes just days after Mr. Barrios initially received a 30-day stay. Murphy worked with U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal to request that Immigration and Customs Enforcement reconsider their decision to deport Mr. Barrios.
“I’m so glad that Luis knows that he can stay here at home with his wife and kids,” said Murphy. “I’m happy Connecticut’s congressional delegation could act quickly and help.”
