WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement after voting to support the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA). The Senate passed the legislation with a final vote of 74 to 21.

“Protecting America from cyberattack should have nothing to do with whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, so I was glad today to cast my vote for this bipartisan bill that will add to our national defenses," said Murphy. “Security breaches by online hackers and hostile foreign nations affect us all. A cyberattack could cripple America’s national security and economic vitality in a matter of moments. With the policies set forth in this CISA bill, I’m confident that we can confront cyber threats and safeguard the Constitutional values and rights of the American people.”
