WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement after the VA Connecticut Healthcare System announced that they will restore free shuttle service between its West Haven Campus and the West Haven Train Station: 

“I’m glad the Department of Veterans Affairs did the right thing and quickly reversed course to renew the free shuttle service between the West Haven Campus and the train station. Ending this critical transportation option would have meant just another barrier that veterans would have to face before getting the medical care they’ve earned. Resuming the service that veterans, their families, and the VA Medical Center workers rely on was the right decision, and I’ll keep working to make sure it’s here to stay.”
