WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Wednesday released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s visit to Connecticut to give the commencement address to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London:

“I’m thrilled that President Biden will be in New London today to address the Coast Guard Academy’s Corps of Cadets and their families—his first commencement address at a service academy as our commander in chief. This is a great honor for Connecticut and for the graduates of the Class of 2021, who carry on a rich tradition as they begin their commissioned service to the nation,” said Murphy.
