WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement honoring the annual celebration of Polish Day at the State Capitol.
“As a proud Polish-American, I'm so grateful for the tremendous contributions that Polish-Americans have made to the economic and cultural development of Connecticut. I grew up listening to my mother tell stories of growing up in the tight knit Polish community of New Britain, and eating the wonderful Polish food my grandmother and aunts would prepare. Now, as a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, I'm fighting for a strong bilateral relationship between the United States and Poland, especially in the face of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. And I won't rest until Poland is made part of the visa waiver program so that the brothers, sisters, parents, and friends of Polish-Americans can freely visit the United States."
