WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) applauded the final regulatory approval of Sikorsky Aircraft’s sale to Lockheed Martin Corp. Murphy released the following statement:
“This sale will be a win for the hardworking men and women at Sikorsky and for the servicemen and women who rely on their helicopters to defend our nation. I look forward to working with Lockheed and the rest of the Connecticut Delegation to bring more high-tech manufacturing and engineering jobs to Connecticut in the coming decades.”
Lockheed Martin today received the approval from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the last such approval needed to close its acquisition of Sikorsky Aircraft. The acquisition is anticipated to close on Friday, November 6th, 2015.
