WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the Near East, South Asia, Central Asia and Counterterrorism, released the following statement on Tuesday after explosions and gunfire at Istanbul Ataturk Airport:

“My heart goes out to the victims, their families, and the Turkish people in the wake of bombing at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. The terrorist attacks on innocent civilians are more evidence of the need for a truly multi-national, integrated effort to track down and destroy terrorists across the globe. This fight cannot be won overnight, but each attack solidifies our resolve to end the scourge of terrorism that plagues the world today.”
