WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on Friday released the following statement on the death of three aid workers in the Tigray region and the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis:
“The reports coming out of Ethiopia today of three Doctors Without Borders aid workers brutally murdered in the Tigray region are simply awful. This is the latest in a string of attacks against aid workers who are just trying to help civilians caught in the crossfire of a deadly conflict. Humanitarian aid workers are not a target,” said Murphy.
