WASHINGTON–U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia, and Counterterrorism, on Monday released the following statement:

“I am deeply concerned that Morad Tahbaz continues to be unjustly detained in Iran. Morad should have been allowed to return home with the other UK citizens, but because Britain made a deal that left Morad behind, Iran must at the very least live up to its side of the agreement that allows him to leave prison under house arrest. Morad should be allowed to return home and be reunited with his family immediately,” said Murphy.
