HARTFORD—U.S.Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released his year-end report outlining the work he’s done for Connecticut residents in 2020. Throughout this tumultuous year, Murphy worked hard to find common ground to help people struggling as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, to bring relief to workers and families across Connecticut, and to find solutions to address systemic racism and inequality. Murphy also continued to fight to protect Americans from gun violence, strengthen and expand our health care system, boost innovation and manufacturing, strengthen our national security, and secure critical investments for Connecticut.
“The events of this year – a once in a century global pandemic, renewed calls for racial and social justice, and an election that polarized our country – have stretched everyone thin. But as I travel across Connecticut, I am heartened by the tenacity and generosity of our fellow citizens. That’s what makes the work I do in Washington so meaningful. I wake up every day with the people I represent on my mind, listening to their concerns and fighting on their behalf. This year, amidst the pandemic and partisan bickering, I was able to secure a bunch of big wins for our state. My legislative efforts this year were the result of countless conversations with the people of Connecticut. I hope this report is a reflection of that,” said Murphy.
