HARTFORD—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced on Monday that Aeroturn LLC of Oxford is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.” Aeroturn is a zero-maintenance turnstile manufacturer that offers 100% made in the U.S. products for a variety of buildings across the country. Founded in 2001, the company’s 10 employees work out of a 7,000 square-foot facility in Oxford that includes a welding and fabrication department, receiving and loading, and product and electronic specific final assembly areas. The company does work for many federal and local office buildings, including the White House; colleges and universities, like Harvard and Dartmouth; food services headquarters; and more.
“I’m proud to highlight Aeroturn for their nearly two decades of service to Connecticut manufacturing. A host of impressive businesses and organizations use their ‘Made in America’ products, which are made right here in Connecticut. I’m looking forward to watching them continue to grow,” said Murphy.
"We have over a hundred years of mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering and fabrication experience within these walls. We are all very proud of the extensive talent pool in our home state of Connecticut. Our state has always been a leader in the highly skilled workforce required to manufacture the highest level of quality products available anywhere in the world," said Mike Stoll, Vice President of Technical Sales and Marketing at Aeroturn.
Throughout the years, Aeroturn has received multiple federal and commercial awards for leading in the turnstile manufacturing sector. Aeroturn is the only turnstile manufacturer that delivers and installs 100% of its products throughout the U.S. and Canada. They have not had any turnstile lanes removed or taken out of service due to end of life or malfunction since they started installing lanes back in 2004.
The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating the state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s thousands of manufacturers account for 10% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the BuyAmerican.gov Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
