FARMINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced that Turbine Technologies, Inc. (TTi), a second-generation family- and veteran-owned manufacturer based out of Farmington, is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.” Founded in 1963, TTi has manufactured turbine components for over 50 years. The company provides CNC Sinker Electric Discharge Machining, Wire Electric Discharge Machining, Original Equipment Manufacturer certified airflow of blades, buckets, vanes, nozzles, and shrouds, High Speed Hole, and 5 Axis Milling services, among other capabilities, to companies in the military and commercial aircraft and power generation industries from their two Farmington facilities. TTi’s customers include many of Connecticut’s own aerospace and industrial gas turbine manufacturers, including United Technologies and General Electric, and their tiered supply bases.

TTi takes great pride in their workforce and constantly provides training and new learning resources to their team of 67 hardworking employees, many of whom have been with the company for upwards of 17 years and have either previously served in the U.S. military or currently serve in the Army Reserve and National Guard. As a result of the team’s continued development, TTi recently increased their sales by 35% over the course of just one year. They were also nominated for a 2015 Business Champions Award by the MetroHartford Alliance and received the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Veteran-Owned Small Business Award for 2015.

“It comes as no surprise that TTi continues to be recognized for their hard work and successes,” said Murphy. “Whether they’re crafting top-of-the-line engine components that keep our brave servicemen and women safe, putting their own lives on hold to serve our country abroad, or creating new opportunities for Connecticut veterans transitioning back into life at home, the team at TTi continues to serve Connecticut in every way possible. We’re lucky to be the home of a company so dedicated to its community, and I am grateful for everything the TTi team has done to boost Connecticut manufacturing and protect our nation.”

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating our state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s 4,602 manufacturers account for 10.2% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the 21st Century Buy American Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
