NEWINGTON –Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced the third local manufacturing company to be recognized in his new weekly series, “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer”, in which a distinct Connecticut manufacturer is recognized for its outstanding contributions to the state. This week, Murphy is recognizing Polamer Precision, Inc. for its hard work and contributions to Connecticut’s manufacturing industry, and for their commitment to the development, achievement, and well-being of their employees. Polamer Precision, Inc. is a contract aerospace manufacturing firm that produces high quality engine and airframe components for delivery to customers worldwide. The company combines their engineering capabilities with the latest technologies in order to ensure mistake-free processes, timely delivery of products, cost-efficiency, and high standards. Polamer is a preferred vendor to Pratt and Whitney Aircraft along with numerous original equipment manufacturers, and its customers include GE Aviation and Samsung Industries. Polamer’s products are used on the most advanced military aircraft in the sky, as well as on commercial aircraft like the Airbus A-319, 320 and 321 family.

Polamer Precision, Inc. has operated out of Newington for their nearly 20 years in business, and provides their workers with the resources they need to perform at their fullest potential by making education and communication among employees a priority. At the company’s inception in 1997, the manufacturer operated out of a 2,000 square foot manufacturing space and employed just a handful of workers. After years of continued growth in business, Polamer Precision, Inc. has expanded several times.

Today, the manufacturer employs 83 highly qualified Connecticut residents and is preparing to move to its new 152,000 square foot world class manufacturing facility in New Britain. As part of the company’s dedication to green building practices, the new facility will soon be home to the largest industrial solar power generation system in the state. This new facility makes Polamer the second largest privately held owner of manufacturing real estate in New Britain, and is the second largest private investment over the past 10 years. Polamer plans to expand their team to include at least 140 employees by December of 2016.

“There’s no question that Polamer Precision is committed to providing their clients with world-class service and superior products,”
said Murphy. “But what makes Polamer so outstanding is that they are just as committed to providing this same, exceptional level of care and service to their employees. Polamer clearly understands the direct correlation between providing meaningful employment and making their customers happy. I’m proud to recognize Polamer Precision, Inc. as Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer and I hope that other Connecticut businesses will follow their lead.”

“We are honored to be chosen as Senator Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer,”
said Polamer Precision, Inc.'s CEO/President, Chris Galik. “At Polamer Precision, we believe it is essential that businesses and government officials join forces to encourage growth in the manufacturing sector of Connecticut.  With the two pieces of legislation that were cosponsored by Senator Murphy more American manufacturing jobs will be created and retained.  We support the Senator’s efforts to make the manufacturing industry in Connecticut strong and viable as this industry will once again become one of the leading factors in the United States economy. Polamer is pleased to be currently working with Senator Murphy’s office to increase federal contracting opportunities for manufacturers throughout the State of Connecticut. It is a very exciting time for our industry as new programs are being developed by aerospace engine manufacturers, such as Pratt and Whitney – United Technologies. It is an exciting time for our company as well, while we look forward to our move to the new facility.”

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating our state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s 4,602 manufacturers account for 10.2% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the 21st Century Buy American Act and the American Jobs Matter Act
