WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced custom safety net solutions manufacturer InCord, in Colchester, is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.”
Since its founding in 1995, InCord has grown to become the largest custom netting fabricator in North America, providing netting products to customers worldwide. With production facilities in Colchester and Oakdale, and warehousing in Norwich, InCord maintains a large footprint in Connecticut. Their top customers include PlayCore, Frazier Industries, US Cargo Control, Keeper Goals, Jiffy Lube, and many more. In addition to contributing to community and industry related charities, InCord works with local colleges, high schools and technical schools to expose students to the diversity of skills required in manufacturing. These students are mentored through joint academic and industry programs and internships.
“InCord represents the very best in manufacturing that Connecticut has to offer,” said Murphy. “I’ve had the opportunity to visit InCord’s facility in Colchester and witness their commitment to making quality products right here in Connecticut. I’m happy to highlight the work InCord is doing, and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
“In times when Buy America is a challenge, Senator Chris Murphy listened to us at InCord to find better ways for manufacturers like ours to operate in a global economy,” said Meredith Ritz Shay, CEO of InCord.
The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating our state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s 4,600 manufacturers account for 10% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the BuyAmerican.gov Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
