WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced on Monday that BAUSCH Advanced Technologies, Inc. (BAT) in Clinton is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.” Founded in 2004 and working out of a 38,000 square foot facility, BAT specializes in the manufacturing of customized systems for primary packaging of syringes, cartridges and vials for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Over its 15 year history, BAT has become a leader in North American markets and built relationships with some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.

“I’m proud to highlight Bausch Advanced Technologies this week for their innovative thinking and commitment to Connecticut’s workforce. Bausch’s products are made right here in Connecticut and exported around the world. I’m looking forward to watching them continue to grow, and my office is happy to help in any way we can,” said Murphy.

“Connecticut’s green energy approach allowed us to cover over 90% of energy to be produced by solar energy. Working with the CT DECD allowed us to expand our manufacturing capacity by adding a CNC router,” said Oliver Basuch.

BAT has seen tremendous growth over the past few years, increasing their staff from 37 to 83 in just two years, and recently completing a 13,000 square foot building that will be home to a new Bausch packaging consumable division and production space for the new patent pending surface decontamination PUV units. BAT is also active in the Clinton community, routinely donating to the Town of Clinton Police Department Canine Fund and Families Helping Families.

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating the state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s thousands of manufacturers account for 10% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the BuyAmerican.gov Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
