WASHINGTON – On their 40th anniversary in Connecticut, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced that window and door hardware manufacturer Roto Frank of America, Inc. is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.” Roto Frank of America, Inc. was founded in Chester in 1979 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Roto Frank AG, headquartered in Germany. The Roto Group has 18 production plants and more than 40 subsidiaries globally, with facilities in over 40 countries with 4,900 employees. Roto Frank of America is celebrating their 40th Anniversary on Tuesday, May 7th in Chester.

Roto Frank of America, Inc., began manufacturing roof windows and distributing Tilt&Turn hardware. Later on, the company recognized a great opportunity to expand in the North American market, with offerings like their renowned X-DRIVE casement and awning window products.

Aside from providing products to communities around the world, the company remains active in the local community. Each year, Roto Frank of America employees vote on a charity to donate to. This year, employees voted for the Alzheimer’s Association, and previously donated to the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, the Saybrook Soup Kitchen, and the American Red Cross. They also routinely partner with local high schools and offer internships to create a pipeline of future employees. Roto Frank of America has over 80 full-time employees in their 64,000 square-foot facility in Chester. President and CEO Chris Dimou also serves on the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

“Roto Frank of America contributed to Connecticut’s thriving manufacturing industry. After all these years, they’ve continued to be a leader in the window and door hardware manufacturing sector. I’m very happy to help Roto celebrate 40 years in Connecticut, and look forward to working with them in the years ahead,” said Murphy.

Roto Frank of America’s President & CEO, Chris Dimou, said, “I am deeply honored to have had the opportunity to lead an incredible team at Roto Frank of America over the last decade. I am also profoundly excited to see what is in store for us in the future, since I strongly believe that our greatest accomplishments still lie ahead of us."

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating the state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s 4,600 manufacturers account for 10% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the BuyAmerican.gov Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
