WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced on Monday that Accurate Wire of Branford is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.” Founded in 1988, Accurate Wire specializes in the manufacturing of square, flat, and special shaped wires for a variety of applications. Their wires are commonly found in the aerospace, automotive, consumer products, electronics, medical and springs industries, and are available to companies all around the world. Currently, Accurate Wire’s 32 employees work out of a 70,000 square foot facility in Branford. The company maintains a high quality of standard for compliance as an ISO 9001:2008 registered company. Accurate Wire was acquired by metals manufacturing company Luvata in 2016.
“Accurate Wire represents the best that Connecticut manufacturing has to offer. For over 30 years, their high quality wire components have stood out in the wiring industry, making them a reliable manufacturer to companies all around the world. I’m proud to highlight them today,” said Murphy.
Accurate Wire is a recurring gold sponsor of the Branford Festival and routinely sponsors a child or family each year for the holidays through Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families.
The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating the state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s thousands of manufacturers account for 10% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the BuyAmerican.gov Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
