WASHINGTON – Today, during a speech delivered on the floor of the U.S. Senate, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) called on Congress to take meaningful action on commonsense legislation to curb gun violence across the nation. During his speech, Murphy laid out clear evidence that anti-gun violence policies can stop perpetrators of violence without affecting law-abiding gun owners. He also paid tribute to the nine men and women who were tragically shot and killed at a church in Charleston, South Carolina, last week.
