(Hartford, CT)—Today, U.S. Senators Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and U.S. Representatives Rosa DeLauro (CT-3), Joe Courtney (CT-2) and Elizabeth Esty (CT-5) announced $330,536 in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighter Grants (AFG) for fire departments in Middlefield, Plymouth, and Stafford.

“Day in and day out, firefighters put their lives on the line to save others,” said Blumenthal, Murphy, DeLauro, Courtney, and Esty. “It’s critical that fire departments have best, most up-to-date equipment and resources available to get the job done safely and effectively. We are thankful for the courageous work the firefighters in Middlefield, Plymouth, and Stafford do on behalf of our communities, and we’ll continue to fight for these federal programs that support Connecticut’s first responders.”

Middlefield and Stafford will be receiving $152,620 and $158,858 respectively to purchase new firefighter breathing apparatus equipment. Plymouth will be receiving $19,048 to fund two new EMT training classes.
