Hartford, CT)—Today, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) introduced two resolutions commending the Yale University Men’s Lacrosse team for winning the 2018 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship, and the Wesleyan University Men’s Lacrosse team for winning the 2018 NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship.
“Connecticut’s collegiate teams are among the best in the country,” said Blumenthal and Murphy. “We’re proud to officially recognize both Yale and Wesleyan men’s lacrosse teams for their monumental wins.”
In May, Yale won the Division I championship title with a 13-11 win over the Duke University Blue Devils, and Wesleyan won the Division III championship title with an 8-6 win over the Salisbury Sea Gulls. This was the first men’s lacrosse NCAA championship title for both Yale and Wesleyan.
