WASHINGTON, D.C. – United States Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Ranking Member of the United States Appropriations Subcommittee on the Legislative Branch, was selected as a member of the Conference Committee to finalize the minibus appropriations bill, which packages the Fiscal Year 2019 funding measures for Energy and Water Development, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Legislative Branch.

“This is why I fought for a seat on the Appropriations Committee. Connecticut needs a strong advocate in the room when decisions about government investments are made,” said Murphy. “I’ll take the feedback I’ve received from my Connecticut Veterans Advisory Council to make sure this final bill protects the programs that make the biggest difference in the lives of those who sacrificed.”

In addition to Murphy, the other conferees named are Senators Leahy (D-Vt.), Feinstein (D-Calif.), Schatz (D-Hawaii), Shelby (R-Ala.), Alexander (R-Tenn.), Boozman (R-Ark.), Daines (R-Mont.), and Lankford (R-Okla.).
