Hartford, CT – The Connecticut Congressional Delegation announced that Sikorsky has secured a $55 million federal contract from the U.S. Navy to begin purchasing necessary materials to prepare for production of the first CH-53K production helicopters, the U.S. Marine Corps’ new heavy-lift aircraft, to be built by Sikorsky in Connecticut.

This contract is a down payment that enables Sikorsky to purchase materials needed to prepare for construction of the first CH-53K production helicopters in Connecticut. We are proud to have fought to bring this important work to Connecticut, as it will become the core of Sikorsky’s work here for the decade to come. We will continue to fight for robust funding for the CH-53K program—keeping Sikorsky’s unparalleled workforce on the job and ensuring our warfighters receive the technology and capability they need and deserve.
