WEST HAVEN, CT — U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced that ThermaXX Jackets of West Haven is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.”
Founded in 2008, ThermaXX manufactures removable insulation jackets for mechanical systems such as valves, pumps, and traps.
“The ThermaXX team is developing state-of-the-art technologies to improve energy efficiency, save their customers money, and create jobs,” Murphy said in a press release.

Each month, ThermaXX’s 35 employees manufacture and distribute thousands of insulation jackets to customers – such as the University of Connecticut, Yale Hospital, Madison Square Garden, the Pentagon, and Radio City Music Hall – in all 50 states and to customers in half a dozen countries.
ThermaXX insulation jackets are currently used in more than 3,000 buildings across the world.
Since 2013, ThermaXX has tripled in size.
With the help of the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, ThermaXX was able to hire an additional 30 employees and move into a brand new, larger facility.
Most recently, the ThermaXX team developed and released an iOS app that allows customers to track steam temperatures of individual mechanical systems, and automatically order ThermaXX removable jackets to save energy.
ThermaXX also operates satellite offices in New York, Georgia, and California.
“In the eight years since Brian (Bannon) started the company, they’ve outfitted thousands of buildings with insulation jackets that pay for themselves in just 18 months,” Murphy said. “Thanks to innovative small businesses like ThermaXX, Connecticut manufacturers remain the best in the world.”
Brian Bannon, founder of ThermaXX, said that working in Connecticut has allowed them to “attract the talent and skill sets necessary to meet our growth goals.”
“When I started ThermaXX, I was told manufacturing was dead in Connecticut,” Bannon said. “We have proven them wrong. Manufacturing in Connecticut is not only alive, it is thriving. ThermaXX has been able to maintain a 70 percent compound annual growth rate since inception and continues to exceed its goals. This is all due to the wonderful employees of ThermaXX and our local and state partners.”
