South Windsor Manufacturer Receives Federal Kudos

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced Monday that Accuturn Manufacturing Company of South Windsor is this week's "Murphy's Monday Manufacturer."
Accuturn specializes in the manufacture of precision-machined components that serve a variety of industries, including aerospace and medical.
The company subcontracts for manufacturers such as Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, General Electric, Sikorsky Aircraft, Collins Aerospace, Honeywell and General Dynamics.
Accuturn is a family owned and operated business that was founded in 1997 in a 1,000 square-foot facility by three brothers. The business has expanded over the years, and its 16 employees now operate out of a 14,000-square-foot facility on Commerce Way in South Windsor. They expect to keep growing and adding to their team in the coming years to meet the growing demands of the manufacturing industry.
"Connecticut has the best manufacturers in the world and it's because of companies like Accuturn. Our country's aerospace defense depends on products made right here in their South Windsor facility. I want to applaud Accuturn for raising awareness of manufacturing and training the next generation of manufacturers in our state. My office's doors are always open to help in any way we can," Murphy said.
"Connecticut is a hub for aerospace manufacturing and we take great pride in being a part of that. This gives us a sense of responsibility to provide younger generations with knowledge about the industry so that they can continue to further the state's legacy when it comes to manufacturing," said Mona Viroja, General Manager of Accuturn Manufacturing Company.
Accuturn is also active in the South Windsor community, routinely working to raise awareness about the manufacturing industry from elementary to college aged students. The company offers internships and job training programs.
Accuturn works with the state to retain and develop the local manufacturing workforce through initiatives like the StepUp Program. The company is part of the Made in CT Program, which strives to display the diversity of the manufacturing industry in the state. Accuturn recently participated in energy efficiency programs offered through Eversource to limit the environmental footprint of their facility operations
