NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — On Monday, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy released the first in a series of reports called, “Fed Up: Traffic on the I-95 Corridor.”
These reports take a town-by-town approach to find trouble areas for commuters and ways to improve Connecticut’s infrastructure.
The first report focuses on exits 14, 15 and 16 in Norwalk, as well as Metro-North’s New Haven Line.
Senator Murphy said he wants to hear the real stories moms and dads, business owners, and employees who are fed up with traffic and take them with him to Washington, D.C.
Each of these reports will identify the specific repairs and upgrades we need to make to ensure that Connecticut residents can make it home in time for dinner, and safely to their jobs and their kids’ schools. Whether it’s on I-95 or Metro-North, I am ready to fight – in both Hartford and Washington – to come up with the money we need to make these long overdue improvements to our roads and rails,” said Senator Murphy.
The main issues in the report are improving East Avenue and the I-95 Exit 16 Interchange ramps, adding parking at Metro-North stations, and upgrading the Norwalk Walk Bridge.
Murphy launched his ‘Fed Up’ campaign last year in the effort to shorten commute times and improve quality of life for Connecticut residents.
