WILLIMANTIC - Speaking during a town hall event at Eastern Connecticut State University Wednesday evening, Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., said he met a woman in Naugatuck who was struggling with basic living expenses, despite earning more than minimum wage.

He said the woman, who he met during his "Walk Across Connecticut," constantly had to determine whether to pay her housing expenses on-time, pay for fuel for her car or pay co-pays for medication

"That story can be repeated thousands and thousands of times, all across our state,"  Murphy said.

The event was held in the Betty Tipton Room at Eastern's Student Center

It was the first of a series of town hall events Murphy is holding throughout Connecticut to discuss the housing crisis in the state.
